It’s our Final Night in Canada before leaving tomorrow night on our 8 month adventure and of course the last thing to do is get down to packing. My packs consist of a 70L main pack with everything practical and a Tiny Day pack holding camera/laptop gear and reading material.

Packing for almost a year on the road is no easy feat and everyone will feel the need to bring certain things others would leave behind. Due to the weather fluctuations between the Himalayas and the Tropics packing can certainly become a major headache. Heres the list I put together for anyone who might find it useful.

In order to fit everything in, I normally use a few medium heavy ziploc bags and use one for Toiletries, one for medications, one for computer/electronic chords and stuff those into the top part of the ruck suck leaving the main compartments free for clothes and jackets. I don’t think I forgot anything but if anyone reading this thinks different, let me know as our clock is ticking.
